The Broken Rail

Ring, Ring,

Up before the rising sun, on a cold winter morning. A call out for a broken rail, all trains are stopped and cannot proceed with their shipment until the Men of Steel repair the track. RC Sandoval the Dispatcher calls. He knows he will get the job done swiftly.
RC races to the yard, calling his Men of Steel to get ready for action. They get in their trucks with rail in tow, all head east, to the curves of Shawmut they go. Arriving on scene RC steps out of his truck into the crisp, cold morning air. RC starts barking orders for his Men of Steel. Quickly they react knowing almost instinctively what to do before they do it. Up on the crane they work with speed getting the new rail down and into position. Down on the ground they cut the rail faster than a blink of an eye. They pull the old rail out of the way, and set the new rail in its place. "Bring out the spike mauls" RC shouts, with spike maul in hand he drives down 40' of spikes. The track is now repaired. RC calls the dispatcher up and lets him know that it is now safe to run the trains. The dispatcher thanks Sandoval and knows he will hear from him again the next time there is a broken rail. RC and the gang head for some coffee at the Texaco, waiting for their work day to begin.
